Essie Lapiz of Luxury

Hi all, I know I haven't done any Nail Pick of the Week's lately... Sorry about that. This week's nail pick is Essie's Lapiz of Luxury, it's a touch darker than periwinkle. Available at Walmart for $7.75, it's a pretty nice color. So what was your nail polish pick for this week?

November Haul, Skin Care Edition

Hi all, hope your Thanksgiving and Black Friday went well :D So it's time for my skin care haul for November. I thought that since I bought a few more skin care items than normal, that it deserved its own post.
Neutrogena Wave Gentle Exfoliating Pads, Yes To Tomatoes: Acne Spot Stick, and Neutrogena Wave
Neutrogena Wave Gentle Exfoliating Pads
So I haven't tried these yet, but I do like the Deep Clean Pads that they make, and I have quite a bit of dead skin.... I mean who doesn't right now?

Yes To Tomatoes: Acne Spot Stick
I haven't had the chance to try this yet... No zits since I bought it haha  :D

Neutrogena Wave
I got this when I finally ran out of pads for the Clean and Clear Black Head Eraser... I think this works better than the black head eraser did, so I like it alot :D The only thing that disappoints me about this one is I can't find the acne pads for it... While I don't get actual pimples much, I still get black heads all the time so I still look for acne stuff obviously.

Well, that's it for this month's skin care items, what did you find that was awesome in the world of skin care this month?

November Haul, Makeup Edition

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Thanksgiving and a good Black Friday shopping session if you went :D So this month I'm trying something a little different... Since practically everything I buy throughout the month becomes my favorites (since I really don't buy that much in comparison to other gurus), I thought I'd just do a monthly haul from now on instead of faves... Hope you all like this :D So let's get started!

From left to right: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain, Zoya nailpolishes in Kelly, Valerie, Adina and Yasmeen, MAC PaintPot in Dangerous Cuvee, and Coastal Scents Go Palette: Paris
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Starting from the top with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I've heard about this from scattered Youtube videos from Amarixe and decided once and for all that I'd try it and I love it :D For those of you who don't know what it is, it's an eyeshadow base... Not nearly as good as the MAC PaintPot in Painterly to me, but it's still good :D

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Instinct
So this product I stumbled upon while I was looking for the new Revlon LipButters, which I still haven't found (darn it). I haven't tried this yet, but it looks promising.

Zoya Nailpolish in Kelly
Now we start with the nailpolishes... YAY!!!!! *ahem* Okay, sorry about that, I'm kinda obssessed with nailpolishes... Zoya nailpolishes at that. I got all these nailpolishes I'm about to show you for like four dollars apiece too. This shade is Kelly, a dull, muddy purple. I've never had a nailpolish this type of purple before so I'm kind of excited to try this one :D

Zoya Nailpolish in Valerie
Another Zoya polish, it's officially my favorite brand because you can put one coat of this on your nails and it's usually the same color that it appears to be in the bottle. The only thing I feel needs to be said about this color, is looks are decieving... The way it looks in the bottle can make you think it's packed with glitter, but it's just alot of shimmer! This color is Valerie, a very shimmery purple, a nice festive shade for fall :D

Zoya Nailpolish in Adina
Now this is the color that tempted me to buy all the other Zoya polishes this month. This is kind of like OPI's Not Like The Movies in the Katy Perry Collection... Except the base color is purple instead of silver. OPI's color is better to me because it has 3 colors essentially, but this is a nice second if you can't find it.

Zoya Nailpolish in Yasmeen
This is my perfect toenail color, not too light and not too dark. This color actually is the same color as Valerie (as seen above), except this one doesn't have nearly as much shimmer in it. This color is my favorite out of the bunch, along with Adina.

MAC Paintpot in Dangerous Cuvee
I know it's an oldie, but this month I got my hands on the MAC Dangerous Cuvee paintpot, from the 2010 Champale collection. Thanks again Amarixe for showing this on your Youtube channel, I wouldn't have known about it any other way. Onto the actual color, the picture doesn't do it justice, but it's a silvery purple color :D

Coastal Scents Go Palette: Paris with Box
Coastal Scents Go Palette: Paris
So the big finale for this month is the Coastal Scents Go Palette: Paris. Another product recommended from Amarixe on Youtube :D This palette has 12 colors, some of them are shimmery, some of them are more matte... I can't wait to start using this palette and maybe do some tutorials with it :D

So that was this month's haul, what were the awesome products you discovered this month?

November Birchbox

My November Birchbox in all its glory :D
Time for this month's Birchbox post, which is box number 7 for me (yay!!!!)
The card that tells me what came in the box and how much the full size of each item is
Atelier Cologne
Atelier Cologne, Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolute: I secretly hate it when Birchbox sends me perfumes... I always love them and all of them have a price tag of 60 bucks for a decent amount, but I do like the scent of this one hahaha. Better luck next time I suppose :D

Borghese Mud

Borghese, Fango Delicato Active Mud for Delicate Dry Skin: Okay, now this is something I really cannot use, since my skin is pretty oily, I guess I can put this in my mom's Christmas stocking since she has pretty dry skin... If the description on the card is accurate, it has aloe vera, mango butter and Vitamin E in it, sounds pretty good for the skin :D

Supersmile
Supersmile, Professional Whitening Toothpaste: Now this is something I can use. I haven't tried it yet, but this is something that I definitely will try :D

Zoya's Noel (from the Holiday 2011 Collection)
Zoya, Nail polish in Noel: I absolutely love this shade from their Holiday 2011 Collection, it's a gorgeous denim shade with a fair amount of shimmer :D

Two Paper Dolls Ampersand Coasters
Two Paper Dolls, Ampersand Coasters: I mean they look kinda cool I guess... Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed with this month's treat. Maybe next month's will be better :D

So that's it for this month's box, I hope you all enjoyed yours, what'd you get this month?

October Birchbox

Hi all, hope you enjoyed Halloween! This post is going to be about Birchbox, which if you don't know what Birchbox is, let me explain... If you do, please ignore :D
Birchbox is a ten dollar a month subscription like a magazine but instead of a magazine you get a box in the mail once a month that has 4-5 deluxe beauty samples for you to try. To find out more, please visit www.birchbox.com. I was introduced to Birchbox by missglamorazzi on youtube with her monthly 'haul' videos (thank you missglamorazzi), I immediately subscribed and have been for 6 months, which means 6 boxes :D
My October Birchbox

This is the list of products that come in your box, you see what brand they come from, how to use it and how much the full size product is :D
Amika's Obliphica Hair Treatment

Amika's Obliphica Hair Treatment: Oh my, what a mouthful :D .... I don't think this will be a product I'll like, but I said the same thing when I got Oscar Blandi's Olio di Jasmine Hair Serum and I wound up buying the full size of that :D
Anastasia Beverly Hills HydraFull Gloss in Bellini
Anastasia Bevery Hills HydraFull Gloss in Bellini: I think I'm going to like this, I love the color of this gloss :D
Clark's Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask
Clark's Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask: I'm not sure what to think on this one yet.
Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in Bronze
Laura Geller's Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in Bronze: I like Laura Geller's products, it all started with my June Birchbox I believe when I got a Blush -N- Brighten in Honey Dipped that I loved. And this one really is a first for me because I've only used primer for my eyeshadow, never my cheeks... Although this may make a nice eyeshadow primer too... :D
The Laundress Wool and Cashmere Shampoo in Cedar

This month's extra for the box was The Laundress Wool and Cashmere Shampoo.
The only thing I don't like about Birchbox is they normally don't give you the option to purchase the extras, which I'm kind of surprised because this month they did.
So that's this month's Birchbox, what did you all get in yours?

October Favorites!!

Well Halloween has come and gone, so that means it's time to share my October favorites with you!!!

From Left to Right: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Soft Nude, OPI Nail Lacquer in Not Like The Movies, Elf Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease, Hard Candy Stroke of Gorgeous Eyeliner in Little Black Dress and MAC's Parlor Smoke Palette.

Let's start with lipstick, this month I liked Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Soft Nude. It's one of their more popular shades and once you start messing around with it you can see why... It's a nice color for everyday, so it's pretty versatile, not only for that reason, but you can also add some lipgloss over it and you can create all kinds of looks with it!

Revlon's Soft Nude
Revlon's Soft Nude swatched on my very pale skin, it should work with all skin tones.

Next up is nail polish, I picked OPI's Not Like the Movies from the Katy Perry collection that came out early 2011. I knew I had to have this color the moment I saw it on Amarixe's youtube video on the collection (thank you Amarixe!). It's a very tricky color to describe... It's a sheer silver color, but it has a green/purple sheen to it depending on the lighting. I like to call this the Northern Lights of nail polish haha :D
OPI's Not Like the Movies

OPI's Not Like the Movies
Onto eyeliners, first off being Elf's Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease. I saw this online one afternoon and it looked like a cool color to have just to be funky with, so I bought it. This color is definitely bold enough to stand alone :D

Next eyeliner on the list is Hard Candy's Stroke of Gorgeous felt tip liner in Little Black Dress. This I saw at Walmart and thought the name was cute, then when I saw it was a felt tip liner I bought it without a second thought. I love a good a felt tip liner, and it's perfect to me. I've used Maybelline's Stiletto felt tip liner and it doesn't create quite as fine lines as this liner does. Thumbs up to Hard Candy for making a felt liner that works better than Maybelline's and for about 3 bucks less! :D

The big finale is MAC's Parlor Smoke palette, I believe it's one of the fall collection palettes. I saw it on Amarixe's blog I believe (thanks again Amarixe) and I fell in love with this palette the second I got it in the mail! The colors in this palette are Parlor Smoke (a purple frost), Cross Cultural (a matte brown), Indigo Noir (a matte purple/blue) and Steel (a nice shimmery blackish grey color).
MAC's Parlor Smoke palette. Colors (clockwise, starting from the top left corner): Parlor Smoke, Cross Cultural, Indigo Noir and Steel.

Thank you all for reading, hope you enjoyed this month's favorites :D What were your October faves?
